50-TON WINCH THROUGH THE MONUMENT – OPERATION AT THE ZOLLVEREIN COAL MINE

At the site of the Zollverein Coal Mine in Essen, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, our assembly team handled the removal of a 50-ton winch system, the required crane setup, and the subsequent safe loading and transport to its new destination. A task with special requirements: confined space and protected historical grounds.

Careful Preparation
To protect the historic cobblestone pavement, driving plates were laid down first. Only then could our vehicles enter the site – with the necessary caution.

Precise Work in Existing Structures
Using the sliding track system, the assembly team carefully removed the winch from its installed position and placed it onto elephant feet.

A 4-axle SPMT (self-propelled modular transporter) then transported the winch in a controlled manner to the crane position. There, the crane lifted the 33-ton main component and safely loaded it onto our mega trailer.

The 17-ton subframe was separately loaded and secured onto our semi-trailer.

Many thanks to our team for the well-coordinated and excellent work!
