TRANSFORMER TRANSPORT IN BERLIN: 210 TONNES THROUGH THE CAPITAL AT NIGHT

KAHL Group carried out a transformer transport in Berlin with a cargo weight of 210 tonnes. Using our 20-axle heavy-duty trailer, we transported the transformer through the capital at night to the substation. The road journey formed part of our transport chain from the Port of Hamburg to the designated foundation.

From the port of Hamburg onwards by barge

The transformer was loaded in Italy and shipped to Hamburg by sea. There, we took over the cargo for onward transport by barge. It was then transferred onto our 20-axle heavy-duty trailer for the final transport stage through Berlin.

Precision positioning at the substation

At the substation, our specialist machinery moving team unloaded the 210-tonne transformer and precisely positioned it on its designated foundation. This completed our work directly at the installation point.

The project combined barge transport, heavy haulage and specialist machinery moving into a seamless transport solution. Careful coordination of the individual transport stages and close cooperation between our teams during cargo transfer, road transport and final positioning were key to its execution.
